[Special Preview] Spiderman Challenge — An Alpha Posse Exclusive
Welcome to the Spiderman Challenge!
Each month, we guide our Alpha Posse members through a fun skill-based, month-long challenge with tutorial videos, special interviews, and ongoing feedback and advice from our GMB Trainers.
This month we are going to focus on a series of movement patterns that stem from the Bear Walk. These series of movements will eventually have us looking like Spiderman walking up a wall so that’s what we’ve called it. The Spiderman.
I remember learning this the first time in my judo practice when I first came to Japan. Going up and down the mat doing the Spiderman brings back memories of hot summers and smelly mats. Yuck!
The Spiderman will improve your flexibility by having you work on getting your knee up and on top of your elbow. You’ll be pushing back into the top position each time so you’ll be getting stronger.
And you will improve motor control by putting everything into motion.
The fun begins Wednesday, May 6th and we’ll choose a winner on May 31st! Want to join us in this challenge (and check out the brand new, in-depth Spiderman mini-program)?
Want to take your practice further?
In these supplemental videos, I’ll show you how to incorporate a twisting movement into your routine, and combine this with your Spiderman flow. Give it a try and let us know what you think!
