Go All-In with Flow

I really enjoyed Floor Loco, as it allowed me to focus on controlled, coordinated movement in a fun way. The program is very versatile as the flows are quite distinct from each other. For that reason, I feel it's a perfect program if you want to do a session every day. No risk of overtraining because you can be sure the attributes you train one day will be completely different from the day before.

I also liked the puzzle aspect of figuring out how to do each move without bumping into walls and desks and what not, the reverse engineering of the flows - if I want to end up in this place, I should probably start over there.. no wait that doesn't work.. let's try starting over here, etc.

Compared to other programs I feel the progress in FL is less linear, in the sense that you make quick progress with some of the flows but keep struggling with others. But that's not a bad thing, as it forces you to recognize and address the areas that you need more work on.

One of the nicest takeaways for me are the rolls. Really cool to work on these moves that you don't often see in other programs and to notice the steady progress in each of them. I still do some rolling once in a while just because I feel like it, I'm pretty sure that wouldn't have happened if I hadn't done FL.

It’s Time to Demystify FLOW

Lately anyone who can string a couple somersaults together is suddenly a “movement flow guru” on Instagram.

They show off some cool tricks and wrap it up in esoteric language to emphasize the fact that you don’t really stand much of a chance trying it for yourself ๐Ÿคฃ

But you know who else is great at flow? Actual athletes.

Watch a running back spin through a tackle or an MMA fighter on the attack and you’ll see how each movement is perfectly calibrated to lead smoothly into the next one.

That’s what athletic intelligence looks like in practice. And the methods to attain it are NOT a secret.

Floor Loco’s here to help you build it.

The Process: Moves โ†’ Combos โ†’ Flows

Floor Loco builds on tried-and-true methods of skill acquisition. No pseudo-philosophical meditations required.

1. Build Your Movement Vocabulary

Floor Loco will introduce you to dozens of individual skills – from basic rolls to twisting transitions and cartwheels. Some will feel easy. Others will challenge you to push out of your comfort zone.

2. Master the Skill of Movement Transitions

Next, you’ll combine those building blocks into 15 combos so you can learn to shift from one to the next. We’ll teach you exactly how to perform each transition smoothly – from chunky to creamy.

3. Deepen Your Flow with Intentional Repetition

Finally, you’ll put those combos together to create complex flow routines, each focused on a different athletic skill set. Each run through the flows builds your spatial awareness and control.

Just trying random flows on Youtube won’t abracadabra you into an athlete.

Floor Loco breaks flow down to its constituent movements, then walks you step-by-step through building the capabilities that underlie graceful execution.

“OK, so what will I actually be practicing?”

We could tell you about these flows all day…

But you’d still have to try and imagine wha the practice actually entailed. So we asked a few GMB Trainers to film themselves practicing.

Here’s what they look like:

Of course, they’ve all done a LOT of training in these kinds of movements, so they picked up the flows without too much trouble.

But remember: Floor Loco isn’t a cannonball into the deep end.

This is a systematic, progressive process of teaching you to move with the same level of coordination and control.

Who should get Floor Loco?

Clearly, this isn’t a beginner’s course.

To really get the most out of this training, you’ll need to have a solid foundation in locomotor movement so you can pick up the basics easily and start putting them together.

If you’ve done our Elements program and feel like you’re ready for the next challenge, this is a perfect fit.

Likewise, if you have experience with dance, martial arts, gymnastics, or similar programs and thought Elements maybe looked a little too basic, then this is a great program to take that background to the next level.

And if you’re not ready…

We’ve got you a proven and accessible foundation for this kind of movement: start with Elements.

What you can expect…

Over 5,000 clients have used Floor Loco and completed thousands of flow sessions.

Here’s what some of them said about the experience:

Floor Loco took Elements just a bit further and now feels like the little brother of Sequences to me. I liked how it was clear that I am going to work up to four different locomotive flows. It expanded my movement vocabulary. (I remember the sideroll for example being difficult at first and then turned into a fun move, that I would practice from time to time)
I remember doing 15 min sessions almost every morning or during lunch break at work. That was also cool because it gave the opportunity to work on a bigger piece in a relatively small time frame.

Love the Emphasis on Rolling, Sliding, and Floor Work

I get comfortable sticking to what I know so new pieces like this are valuable in that they get my out of my comfort zone and get my exploring stuff that I might not otherwise.

It will be valuable to have a movement program beyond (and complimentary to) Elements that my clients can make strides toward and be challenged by. I particularly like how there's emphasis on laying down, rolling, sliding. I love getting clients comfortable with things like this as I think it's important to have the movement freedom to enter, play on, and exit the floor comfortably.

You'll Enjoy the Process and Stick With It

Creating and exploring flows adds new challenge for both body and mind - not to mention it's a lot of fun! Locomotion is already such a big part of my weekly routine that having the opportunity to expand on and grow that side of my practice is exciting.

Building on the locomotion work you've already done will not only continue to benefit your body, it will also help you continue to enjoy the process and want to stick with it. Because the possibility of flow combos truly is endless!

How is this different from Elements and Sequences?

Floor Loco extends your Elements training with a few new moves and some fun new flows to practice. If you’re competent enough with the core Elements combos to want some extra variety, and to use what you’ve learned to get smoother and more efficient, Floor Loco is your thing.

Sequences is a full-blown movement, strength, and conditioning program. It teaches you a ton of new movements and builds you up towards more advanced skills and combinations.

Do I have to have done Elements first?

No, you don’t have to do anything. You can jump right into Floor Loco if you want but you’ll probably feel a little lost with some of the movements.

You’ll be much better prepared to get the most out of it if you do Elements first. But if your training background includes similar movements, you’ll probably be fine.

Why does this cost so much less than other GMB programs?

That’s actually a great question.

Floor Loco includes 35 training sessions, the standard 15/30/45-minute duration options, and all the scheduling and tracking features of our other programs. Honestly, it should cost more.

Maybe we’ll raise the price next time ๐Ÿคทโ€โ™‚๏ธ

So it's just a bunch of flows?

No, it helps you build the underlying capabilities that make athletic flow possible.

Each of the 5 flows is broken down into a bunch of combos that you practice individually. Then by the time you piece them together you’ve developed the skill and fluidity you need.

How much space do I need?

Most people will be able to do this in a living room or bedroom, especially if you don’t mind pushing a chair aside.

In general 10 feet by 10 feet is plenty. But we’ve seen people do our stuff in tiny apartments and even an RV one time.

Floor Loco involves rolling around on the floor, so just make sure you won’t kick a hole in your TV…

What movements will I learn?

The best way to get a sense of that is to watch the videos on this page. There are lots of variations of the four core Elements movements, plus some new ones Ryan threw in to keep things spicy.

Will it ever be for sale again?

Floor Loco is not part of our core curriculum, so it won’t be regularly for sale on our website.

We sometimes offer it as part of a bundle or to celebrate Andy winning a donut eating contest. But usually just once a year. Like now ๐Ÿ™‚

Yay! You made it the bottom of the page.
