How is this different from Elements and the other GMB programs?

Resilience was designed as a complement to our core curriculum of training program, each of which has its own purpose and focus.

Elements, Integral Strength, and Sequences are well-rounded programs that can work either as your primary training or in addition to a sport or gym routine. Mobility was intended to be used alongside other training to increase range of motion without slowing recovery from your main workouts.

Resilience works best as an add-on practice to help strengthen your joints and connective tissues. While the core programs also contribute to joint health, Resilience is focused entirely on that purpose.

It won’t build muscle. It’s not gonna burn extra fat or teach you how to do a handstand.

It may very well protect your body in some challenging situations.

Do I have to have done Elements first?

No, you don’t have to do anything.

Though Resilience works great alongside any of our other programs, it’s self-contained and fit into whatever routines you happen to be following.

Will Resilience make me literally bulletproof or turn me into some kind of invincible superman?

When you integrate this practice into your regular routine, you’ll be teaching your body to adapt in realtime to odd forces and impacts. You’ll develop greater ability to absorb those shocks without trauma.

But don’t let it go to your head, OK?

Falling less often, feeling unfazed after collisions, and remaining unscathed by accidents… these are great, but you don’t wanna get overconfident.

Resilience will make you tough-er, but we can only do so much…

Please still be responsible for your own safety and take good care of yourself. You deserve it, and so do the people who count on you 🙂

How much space do I need?

Resilience doesn’t require much space at all. Just enough room to sit, stand, lie down on the floor is enough.

Do I need any kind of special equipment?

Nope!

Just a bit of floor. Maybe a chair or wall to help balance while you’re learning certain movements.

A few other things you’ll need less often in the future: bandages, knee braces, crutches, etc. 🙂

Can Resilience help rehabilitate prior injuries?

That’s pretty tricky to guess at, since the nature of individual injuries is going to be case-by-case. Normally, we’d just say “email us and ask,” but the truth is that Resilience is designed as a preventative measure, not for rehabilitation.

Anecdotally, there have been situations when clients were completely healed and no longer in pain, who were able to recover additional range of motion and build more robustness using these exercises, but if you are currently injured, your priority should be first on healing, then on any necessary rehab or physical therapy.

Resilience – and any other training we’re able to offer – is not a replacement for medical care.
